In his homeland, they call Joan Verdú "La Mamba," the snake. This refers to his skiing style. His turns in giant slalom are an attack, athleticism, and aesthetics – yet still a dance. What AJ Ginnis is to Greece, Joan Verdú is to his 80,000 fellow citizens in the Pyrenean country of Andorra and to Spain – a sports icon, national hero, and media darling. 

At the age of two years, he stood on skis for the first time on Mount Parnassus, just north of Athens. At twelve, he learned to carve fast turns in Kaprun. At seventeen, he made it into the U.S. Ski Team. At twenty-three, he changed national teams — a new chapter for himself and his home country, Greece.

The next milestone for the VAN DEER-Red Bull Sports ski brand founded by Marcel Hirscher: the company is now a partner in the Austria Skipool, the organization that provides high-quality racing equipment and funding for the ÖSV's Alpine and Nordic athletes every year. The corresponding cooperation agreement was signed after the end of the most successful World Cup season to date for VAN DEER-Red Bull Sports.

It took Henrik Kristoffersen just over 19 minutes, 38 seconds and 92 hundredths to claim the first overall slalom title for Marcel Hirscher’s ski brand VAN DEER–Red Bull Sports in only its third winter season. 1,403 quick turns turned this small globe into a big story for the brand’s eternity.

As the newest member, the H-POWER 89 is the widest ski in the H-POWER series and shares the same racing-inspired DNA as its sibling, the H-POWER 78, ensuring an energetic, dynamic ride. Its fresh ochre design and practical FDT binding complete the package, making it the ultimate all-mountain companion.

What a delightful surprise! The VAN DEER-Red Bull Sports team gifted founder Marcel Hirscher the most successful race weekend ever for his 36th birthday. Henrik Kristoffersen dominated both races in Kranjska Gora, securing the first tech double of his career. In the slalom, he and Timon Haugan achieved a historic first – a one-two victory on VAN DEER-Red Bull Sports skis. Meanwhile, at the Nordic Ski World Championships in Trondheim, Andreas Wellinger and Nordic combined athlete Vinzenz Geiger had already collected two silver and one bronze medal.
